Finding paragraph #2

I have researched the history of cheerleading uniforms. Early Cheerleading started at Princeton University. The first cheerleaders were all men. When females finally did take over cheerleading, they were still in the days of long wool skirts, cardigan sweaters and canvas sneakers. The letters of the school where sewn on the sweater, and girls wore turtlenecks or blouses under their cardigan sweaters. In the 60's they wore long wool skirts, that were more comfortable skirt. The skirts were made of cotton and worn with a crew neck sweater. A design with the letters of the school on a megaphone were somewhere on the sweater along with the squad member's name. Girls still wore a blouse underneath the sweater. In the 70's cheerleading was more athletic. Cheerleaders wore sneakers (saddle shoes or Keds) and the uniform was made less bulky to allow for easier movement. Vests or shell tops and pleated skirts became popular. Pleated skirts were alternating colors, and sometimes they were reversible.
